People of the Mainland China Area

If I am a professional in the field of education, business, finance, religion, mass communication, cultural performamces, sports and so on and want to visit Taiwan to engage in such professional activities, how do I apply for the approval of entry into Taiwan from the a foreign country, including Hong Kong and Macau?

Status verification

I.You are professional personnel involved in education, financial, religious, mass communication, cultural performance, sports, and etc. and wish to engage in such activities in ROC.

II.Entry to ROC from other countries, including: Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

III.The application information applicable to you: Application information for people of Mainland China applying to enter Taiwan for professional activities.

IV.Information for Mainland China Professional personnel residing in Japan involved in education, financial, religious, mass communication, cultural performance, sports, and etc.: Application information for educational professionals, students and academic technology professionals from Japan applying to for short term visit in ROC.

Who should file the application?

The applicant in the foreign country and the inviting division in ROC must file the application separately:
1.The applicant in the foreign country must file the application to a ROC embassy, representative office, or an organization authorized by the government located in the foreign country.
2.The inviting division must provide an application form, which consists of 3 copies, and file the application to the service centers located in various cities or counties and pay the fees for the permit accordingly.
3.The inviting division may apply on the behalf on the applicant if the applicant is residing in a country with no ROC embassy or representative office.

Suitable Candidates

I.Professional personnel from Mainland China

II.People of Mainland China working in Mainland Chinese Government administrative sectors, political parties, or other government sectors, who are invited by the ROC central government, governments of various cities or counties, or the Straits Exchange Foundation must apply from the ROC authority to participate in the relative programs or conferences.

Where to apply?

I.Applicants residing in a foreign country should apply from the ROC embassy.

II.The inviting division should file the application to the service centers located in various cities or counties.

Required documents

I.Foreign applicants should provide the following documents, soft copies of the following documents may be provided if the trip is urgent:
1.Entry/exit permit application form with a 2 inch colored photograph with white background attached.
2.Identity certificate of country of residence
3.Mainland China passport that is valid for at least 6 months or other certificates proving the applicant’s identity.
4.Employment certificate
5.Copy of payment receipt paid by representative in ROC.

II.The ROC inviting division or representative must provide the application form and the following documents:
1.Entry/exit permit application form with a 2 inch colored photograph with white background attached for certificate use.
2.Invitation letter and certificate of relative attainments or employment.
3.Letter of indemnity.
4.Program and schedule of activity
5.Group member list
6.Company registration of the inviting division
7.Other relative documents such as: authorization letter, certificate of relationships.
8.Please pay the fees accordingly.

Time for application

Application time: the application must be filed 14 days prior to the intended date of visit.
Days required: 10 working days if no additional information is required.

Fees

Fees for the permit: NT$600. Please provide a registered return mail envelope with the name and address of the recipient if the permit is not collected personally.
